OCSiAl (Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes)

Wednesday December 31st, 1969 7:00 PM

Sponsored by OCSiAl LLC with participation of Citigroup Equity Capital Markets.

Firm Overview:

OCSiAl is an international advanced materials company that has created the first mass-production facility for Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes  (SWCNT – a universal additive, which is expected to transform the world of materials by making them lighter, stronger, electrically and thermally conductive. OCSiAl began selling at a price, quality and quantity previously not available in the marketplace.  OCSiAl is focused on the broad industrial commercialization of such universal additives in a range of industries including lithium-ion batteries, polymers, composites, paints and coatings, rubber and tires, and transparent conductive films.

Background:

Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes (SWCNT) are one-atom thick sheets of graphene that are rolled into tubes.

They are one of the strongest, lightest and most conductive materials available that can transform properties of materials – 100 times stronger than steel, more electrically conductive than copper, more thermally conductive than diamonds, with a length-to width ratio of over a million and an enormous surface area per unit of weight.  Unlike other additives, SWCNT can completely change the physical properties of materials even when added in negligible concentrations. SWCNT can be widely applied by many branches of industry using existing equipment and without changing existing manufacturing processes.

Due to its unique technology and experienced management, OCSiAl has all the prerequisites to become the dominant player in a multibillion-market for carbon nanomaterials, which will define the next generation of materials.  OCSiAl was formed in 2009 with significant shareholder funding.  The company spent four years in R&D, building a state-of-the-art production facility in Novosibirsk, Siberia and began sales of SWCNT in May 2014.

Future plans include building additional production facilities and scaling up production to match global demand.

Opportunity:

To invest in a company that is bringing a disruptive product with potential to become a $10 billion company in the next five years.  Minimum investment combined at $5 million to a Luxembourg-based company at a pre-money valuation to be discussed. Proceeds to be used for increased production capacity.
