Amaya Pictures is an independent production and distribution studio launched by three leading producers and executives – David Dinerstein, Danny Bigel, Michael Mailer – whom have a combined track record of successfully producing, marketing and distributing more than 250 feature films and documentaries over the past three decades – released theatrically, through streaming services, and internationally.
The founders have worked with some of the biggest movie stars and directors in the world, and the Company will continue to leverage their A-list talent relationships to become a new home for star-driven “independent” projects – content produced and financed outside of the “studio system” – and build a pipeline and slate that is compelling and commercial.
Amaya’s core thesis is to focus on a particular lane, with respect to budget and audience/popular demand, and as filmmakers and experienced content producers Amaya will address the substantial pipeline demands of the major studios and global streaming platforms, whether digital or physical, by offering produced filmed entertainment content in various forms.

Danny Bigel, David Dinerstein & Michael Mailer of Amaya Pictures
Danny Bigel – whom with Mailer produced over 15 films when the duo entered the indie film space in 1996 – has worked with some of the biggest movie stars in the world as a result of relationships throughout the business, and by focusing on creative material that attract talent. Bigel is the key architect behind Amaya’s business model and financial strategy, and successfully closed Amaya’s credit facility with Comerica Bank, as well as attracted the highest level of senior partners at Deloitte and Paul Hastings to further support the company in tax/advisory and legal, respectively. Danny taught entertainment finance for five years as an adjunct professor at NYU’s Stern School of Business, was a legacy Member of the New York Stock Exchange for 15 years, and recently gave a TEDx Talk on corporate finance and government fiscal policy.
