What is the Caliber Collection?

The Caliber Collection is a series of cuffs, bracelets and cufflinks engraved with the serial numbers from illegal guns and created with the metal from shell casings that have been swept from crime scenes or turned over during gun buyback and amnesty programs. 20% of the net proceeds fund public safety initiatives designed to reduce illegal gun violence nationwide.

You were a lawyer in a past life. How did your career change so drastically?

I took a few years off to start a family.  When I was ready to go back to work I was looking to merge my talents and interests.  So, in 2008, I started a philanthropic jewelry company that created innovative fundraising pieces for a wide variety of not for profits.

What is your mission at the Caliber Collection?

We’re here to work on ending systemic gun violence in urban communities that disproportionately affects young black males.  We have a proven model that people want to support our work around ending gun violence by wearing a physical symbol of that cause.

How can people get involved to help?

They can do the following:

SHOP
Jewelry from the Caliber Collection supports our work to take illegal guns and unwanted guns off the streets and fund effective initiatives to reduce violent crime in America.

DONATE
The Caliber Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) dedicated to support the victims, families and communities affected by illegal gun violence in America. The Foundation connects anyone who donates with the organizations and people on the front lines of re-building lives, one small act at a time. Every day in this country, lives are lost and hearts are broken. The Caliber Foundation offers a helping hand when it is needed, acts of generosity on the parts of many, to help families and communities heal and work together to Raise The Caliber.

What’s next for you in your career?

Because our current line isn’t accessible to everyone from a price point perspective, we are launching a line of jewelry that will be affordable for all; in a similar vein to the LiveStrong line, and as powerful a symbol. This is about the creation of a movement.  People have shown us that they want a way to engage in the process of peace.  The Caliber Collection is a unifying symbol and your purchase transforms you from a consumer to a citizen.
