Calixto Global Investors was founded by Eduardo Costa in 2013 and is located in Coral Gables, FL. Mr. Costa has over 13 years of experience investing in the Telecommunications, Media, Technology (“TMT”) and Consumer sectors globally. His investment philosophy and processes have been honed at institutions including Lazard Asset Management, Shumway Capital, Carlyle and most recently as Director of Research at JAT Capital Management.

Calixto Global’s flexible and style agnostic approach to investing allow them to cherry pick from a larger universe of opportunities without constraining them to a specific investment style (i.e., value/growth/special situations/etc.). Their thesis-based approach seeks to identify under / overvalued investments each distinguishable by a specific qualitative investment thesis. Once identified, the objective is to employ rigorous quantitative analysis and “on-the-ground” primary research to quantify and verify the metrics that will drive price target realization. The results of the empirical research, coupled with other qualitative variables, will be the ultimate determinants of risk / reward and consequently position size. Calixto Global seeks to minimize market correlation and drive alpha through a portfolio with low net exposure. The goal of portfolio construction is to strip out exogenous risk factors (geography, sector and market capitalization) so that returns are driven by the research rather than market fluctuations. The short book is intended to be a profit center. Their investment process is designed to continuously monitor both the individual investments as well as the overall composition of the portfolio to ensure optimal allocation of exposure and mitigation of risk.
The flagship fund structure was launched with partner capital in early January and opened to friends and family on April 1st. Calixto is currently in discussions with a small group of potential investors for its Founders share class and will open to outside capital on June 1st.
Eduardo Costa, Portfolio Manager
Eduardo Costa is the Founder of Calixto Global Investors and Portfolio Manager of the Fund. Prior to founding Calixto Global Investors in 2013, Mr. Costa spent five years as the Director of Research at JAT Capital Management. Prior to JAT, Mr Costa was a Managing Director and Analyst in the Telecom, Media and Technology group at Carlyle Blue Wave Partners. Previously, Mr Costa was an Analyst at Shumway Capital Partners covering the TMT and Travel, Leisure and Gaming sectors, as well as a member of the SCP Omni Fund team. Before that, he was an Analyst at Lazard Asset Management in the Emerging Market Equities group. Mr Costa earned his B.A. in Economics and International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania and his MBA from Columbia Business School.
Sebastian Echavarria, Partner and Business Development Advisor
Sebastian Echavarria is a Partner and Business Development Advisor to Calixto Global Investors. Mr Echavarria is also currently Managing Partner of Sabricas Capital Management, a single family office based in New York City. Previously, Mr Echavarria was Managing Director and Co-Head of Business Development at Highbridge Capital Management. Prior to Highbridge, Mr Echavarria was a Partner and Co-Head of Family Office and Bank Platform Business Development at Renaissance Technologies. Previously, Mr Echavarria served as co–head of a family office investment advisory group within Citigroup’s Private Wealth Management Division. Mr Echavarria earned his B.A. in Political Science and History from Tufts University
Trevor Angus, Chief Financial Officer
Trevor Angus is Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer of Calixto Global Investors. Prior to joining Calixto Global Investors in January 2014, Mr Angus was Chief Financial Officer at Everest Capital. Previously, Mr Angus was Director of Fund Accounting at Butterfield Fulcrum Group and a member of the Financial Advisory Services group at BDO Dunwoody in Canada. Mr Angus earned his Bachelor of Business Administration (Specialist) from Brandon University and is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Efemena Igharoro, Analyst
Efemena Igharoro is an Analyst primarily focused on the Media and Telecom Services sectors. Prior to joining Calixto Global Investors in April 2014, Mr Igharoro was an Investment Analyst in the Media and Telecommunications group at Millennium Management. Previously, Mr Igharoro was an Investment Banking Analyst in the Mergers and Acquisitions group at Deutsche Bank Securities. Mr. Igharoro earned his Bachelor of Commerce with honors from Queen’s University School of Business in Canada.
Jonathan Rodriguez, Analyst
Jonathan Rodriguez is an Analyst primarily serving as a generalist. Prior to joining Calixto Global Investors in January 2014, Mr. Rodriguez was an Associate at Irving Place Capital. Previously, Mr. Rodriguez was an Investment Banking Analyst in the Mergers and Acquisitions group at Perella Weinberg Partners. Mr. Rodriguez earned his B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, summa cum laude.
